Pumps in this section are suitable for extracting rainwater from water butts, storage tanks and underground tanks. Some are also suitable for powering irrigation systems.
They can be used for transferring water from a large storage tank to a smaller water butt for use or from a small water butt used for collecting rainwater to a larger storage tank.
High pressure models are capable of supplying water to a hose-pipe at a similar pressure to that supplied by a water main tap. They are therefore ideal for
providing a water supply from a storage vessel to a sprinkler, water jet or spray.
Pumps are generally designed to be either submersible or dry, surface mounting. Submersible pumps must be submerged in the water they are to pump. Surface or dry mount pumps are designed to be mounted out of
the water and draw water in through a suction pipe. Certain models of pump can be used either way.
Our range also includes pressure boosting pumps, which boost water pressure to a similar level to that of the water main. Pressure boosting pumps are not designed for suction and must be connected to the water butt or tank at
an outlet close to its base. For this reason pressure boosting types generally are not used for extracting water from an underground tank. |
