The Harcostar pumping station consists of a Harcostar Magnum 350 litre water butt with a submersible pump and fittings that allow water from the water butt to be pumped via a hose-pipe. This pumped water can be used to feed a larger
rainwater storage tank located away from the point of rainwater collection or it can simply be used as a hose for watering your garden.

The Harcostar water butt has a large 350 litre (75 gallons) capacity and comes complete with a tap and child safety lid. In addition to the tap three connection holes are provided; two at the top of the barrel and one at the base.
These connection points are supplied with watertight plugs fitted as standard but they are available for use to fit a drainpipe diverter or a link kit to connect to a second water butt. The tap, which is included, can be fitted in either of two holes provided giving a choice of a high or low position.
Water is collected from a drainpipe via a drainpipe diverter. The drainpipe diverter diverts water from your drainpipe into the water butt until the water butt is full. When it is full any further water is directed down the drainpipe below it and towards your ground drain.
This prevents overfilling and overflowing. The universal rain diverter is suitable for round plastic down pipes of diameter 68mm and 65mm square plastic down pipes. It is supplied complete with a 50cm length
of connection hose; longer lengths of hose are available.

The submersible pumps available with this product include a float switch, which activates the pump when the water level in the Magnum is high and stops the pump when the water level is low. They can be used to feed a arger
rainwater storage tank located away from the point of rainwater collection or it can simply be used as a hose for watering your garden.
Two sizes of Draper submersible pump are available with this product. The smaller size has a maximum head of 6.5m and a maximum flow of 120 litres per second. The larger has a maximum head of 9m and a maximum flow of 195 litres per second. The head relates to the pressure
developed by the pump.
The hose outlet on the side of the water butt is available in three different sizes. Select the size you require before purchasing. A 12mm size is suitable for standard garden hose; larger sizes are available for larger diameter hoses that will give better water flow.
